Description
A great gust of wind causes the leaves to swirl in a spiral towards us in this marvellous depiction of a wood in early autumn. Almost lost in the middle distance, three dark figures seem unconcerned by the violence unfolding above their heads. Generous curls and patches of green and russet orange evoke a smokiness of leaves and of bracken as the trees begin their transition to winter.
