It's easy to see why Crinkle Crags at the far end of the Langdale valley has become such a firm favourite with walkers. With a distinctive rugged jumble of shattered rocky towers on a ridge set across the head of Oxendale. In this painting, William has expertly contrasted the gleaming snowy tips on the rocky buttresses with the long dark slab in the foreground.
