Description

The Grisedale Valley is well-known to fellwalkers as the starting point for the path that curves up the south-eastern slopes of Birkhouse Moor before meeting the Hole in the Wall that marks the start of the airy route along Striding Edge to Helvellyn. Alfred has painted the start of this path above the bridge that crosses the beck, emphasising the scale of the fells above it. High above, riding the wind over the dale, a lone buzzard is depicted against a dramatic sky of clouds and distant blue.

Set within a subtle blue beveled frame.
